SHILLONG: KHNAM MLA, Adelbert Nongrum, has urged Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma, to direct telecommunications service providers to properly and systematically realign existing cables around the city.
In a letter to Conrad, Nongrum said the move will enable the newer lines to be systematically laid, which will, in turn, also make Shillong a much tidier and attractive place He lamented that the cables and wires across the city, which lie in a haphazard manner, has become an eyesore.
“The extensions of wires and cables are made from pole to pole and even along the boundary wall which is devoid of any methodology. It has also been found that even the non-serviceable and worn-out wires and cables that require to be discarded are being left unattended,” he said.
