SHILLONG: The Joint Action Committee called for a protest walk before NEHU administrative block on Wednesday to highlight “all-round failure” of the Vice Chancellor, Prof SK Srivastava, in running the University.
The committee, comprising North-Eastern Hill University Teachers’ Association (NEHUTA), North-Eastern Hill University Non-Teaching Staff Association (NEHUNTSA) and North-Eastern Hill University Students’ Union (NEHUSU), has asked the Union government to carry out a probe and take immediate action against the VC for the “blunders and violations” throughout his tenure of five years.
“A proper investigation needs to be carried out on the continuous acts of violation and contravention to NEHU rules and its damaging consequences for the University,” the committee said.
