Garbage pollutes water in Nongruma river at Mawlong village

SHILLONG:  There has been unabated dumping of garbage on Nongruma River at Mawlong village in East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya since 2018 under the nose of the local authority which has not taken any step to stop this menace that is causing pollution of river water and posing threat to public health as people from some villages downstream use the river water for drinking.
