Micro ATMs
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma will attend the programme for the launch and distribution of Micro ATMs to Business Correspondent Agent (BCA) organised by Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS), Shillong, in collaboration with NABARD and Meghalaya Rural Bank at Yojana Bhavan Auditorium Hall on Wednesday from 11 am.

Excise raids
The Excise staff of East Khasi Hills conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts, following which, during the month of August-September, 35 cases with 467.200 litres of i/d liquor and 102.320 litres of IMFL were seized. Furthermore, 22 persons were arrested in this connection.

Tax Amnesty
The Commissioner of Taxes, Meghalaya, has informed that The Meghalaya Settlement of Arrears (under the State Taxation Acts) Rules, 2020 have come into force with effect from September 28. A statement in this regard was issued on Tuesday. Concerned dealers/taxpayers are to contact their respective superintendent of taxes to avail the Tax Amnesty Scheme with 30 per cent remission of tax, surcharge, interest and penalty for settlement of arrears up to March 2020.

Dry day
The District Magistrates of East and West Jaintia Hills have declared dry days in the districts on October 23 and 24 on the account of Durga Puja. According to the orders, all IMFL-licensed premises (wholesale and retail sale), bars, canteens, country spirit shops including outstill will remain closed.

Price revised
The DC (Supply), West Jaintia Hills, informed that the price of SK oil has been revised and fixed with immediate effect. “Wholesale price from Jowai and Thadlaskein Depot will be at Rs. 26.15 per litre; wholesale price from Shangpung outlet will be at Rs.28.90 per litre; the retail price in retail centres from Jowai and Thadlaskein SK Oil Depot will be at Rs. 28.70 per litre and retail price in retail centres from Shangpung SK Oil outlet is Rs 31.60 per litre,” a statement said.

Programme
Eid Milad Un Nabi (birth anniversary of prophet Hazrat Mohammad S.A.W) will be held on October 30 and there will be no procession programme on the occasion due to COVID pandemic.
