The Commissioner and Secretary, General Administration Department has clarified that October 26 is a holiday instead of October 23 as appeared in the state holiday list. The official has further clarified that November 13 will be a holiday on account of Wangala Festival instead of November 6 as mentioned in the holiday list.

PDS quota
Rice under NFSA (AAY and PHH) and non-NFSA and pulses (chana whole) under PMGKAY scheme for October has been released through the respective Fair Price Shops, informed Deputy Commissioner (Supply) of East Khasi Hills. The scale of issue is 35 kg per card at Rs 3 per kg (AAY); 5 kg per head at Rs 3 per kg (PHH); and 7.215 kg per household at Rs 12.70 to Rs 13.00 per kg for (non-NFSA). Pulses (chana whole) will be issued free of cost at 1 kg per card for AAY and PHH beneficiaries.

Curfew in SWKH
The District Magistrate of South West Khasi Hills, Cara Kharkongor, on Wednesday, promulgated curfew in the entire district from October 22 to 29, between 10 pm and 5 am. Other relevant orders such as those relating to movement of people in the district will remain in effect.
