SHILLONG: The History and Political Science departments of Sankardev College, Shillong, organised a webinar thematised on ‘Domestic Violence: Implementation of Domestic Violence Act and Its Effectiveness Thereof’ on Wednesday where issues pertaining to domestic violence and measures to tackle the issue were mooted.
The webinar, which was sponsored by the National Commission for Women (NCW), New Delhi, was attended by academicians, lawyers and representatives of NGOs — who are engaged in dealing with the issues of domestic violence in the state — as resource persons.
During the webinar, the speakers dwelt on different issues of domestic violence and the legal recourse to combat this increasing problem faced by women.
