SHILLONG, Nov 18: The demand for a qualified local tribal professor and the ouster of NEHU’s Vice Chancellor SK Srivastava has cropped up anew, this time by Meghalaya Confederation of Academic Welfare (MCAW).
In a statement issued here, the MCAW claimed that the NEHU has plummeted deep into a bottomless pit of decay, stalemate, insensitivity and all-round failure.
“Given this, the civil society is compelled to ask for removal of Prof SK Srivastava and his team of irresponsible cronies so that NEHU can rise up again,” the organisation said.
Stating that Srivastava’s academic, financial and administrative acts need to be investigated, the organisation said it believes that revamping NEHU will be one of the most important steps in transforming the academic arena of Meghalaya.
