NHIDCL to take up major road projects in state

SHILLONG, Nov 21: The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) as of now has allotted 4 major road projects to different firms and contractors in the state.
As per NHIDCL website, the cumulative physical progress of the 2-laning of Ranikor-Nonghyllam Maheshkhola-Baghmara  project is 16.14  percent and the work is being implemented by M/s Dhar Construction Company & Chanchal Paul as a joint venture project. Rs 217 crore has been allotted for the 333.25 km road project.
Another project which has made some progress is widening of the 2- lane Tura- Dalu road under JICA funding with paved shoulder and geometric improvement. The cumulative physical progress of the 51.5 km road is 18.98 per cent for which M/s Manaranjan Brahma has been allocated the projects costing Rs 358.65 crore.
Last month, the NHIDCL also allotted the work of improvement/widening to 2-lane with earthen shoulder of Ranikor-Maheshkhola-Baghmara road section from Kanai to Rongra to Narendra Sharma.
The 14.763 km road project costing Rs 82.80 crore was awarded last month.
Similarly, improvement and widening to 2-lane with earthen shoulder of Ranikor-Maheshkhola- Baghmara road section from Rongra to Panda  was last month awarded to  Narendra Sharma at a cost of Rs  74.41 crore. In addition, 7 other road projects worth Rs 8,322 crores are at different stages of paper works  which are to be implemented in Meghalaya by the NHIDCL.
