Former MP condoles Gogoi’s demise

SHILLONG, Nov 24: Former Rajya Sabha MP, BB Dutta, has condoled the demise of former Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi.
In a statement issued here, Dutta said that Gogoi’s death is a loss to the entire North East.
Dutta recalled working with Gogoi when the latter served the North East and the country as Chairman of North East Congress Coordination Committee, as Parliament Secretary to Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, as Minister for Food in Prime Minister Narasimha Rao’s Cabinet and then finally as Chief Minister of Assam and president of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee.
The former MP said that Gogoi was a man who was eager to listen and always thought of engaging himself in constructive action for the well-being of one and all.
He also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.
