Students should make proper use of internet, feels minister

NONGPOH, Nov 25: Meghalaya Fisheries Minister Dasakhiatbha Lamare, on Wednesday, said that students should know how to make proper use of the internet and social media to excel in academics and not be pulled into the myriad of its harmful implications.
Speaking on the sidelines of a felicitation programme organised by the Ri Bhoi Youth Federation in Nongpoh for the meritorious students of the district who excelled in the SSLC 2020 on Wednesday, the minister asked of the students to humble and strive hard to achieve greatness.
As many as 12 students from different parts and schools of the district were felicitated.
Meanwhile, Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem, lauded the RBYF for undertaking the initiative of motivating the students through a felicitation programme, while adding that Ri Bhoi, of late, has been catching up in terms of studies. He also pressed for students to keep away from drugs.
Others who were present on the occasion included Jason Sawkmie Mawlong, Umsning MLA, Extra Assistant Commissioner of Ri Bhoi, D Kharshiing, and RBYF leaders.
