SHILLONG, Nov 26: Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) MLA Adelbert Nongrum has written to the Vice Chancellor of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), SK Srivastava, urging him to refrain from “vindictive acts” on bona fide teachers of the University.
In a letter to the VC, Nongrum requested Srivastava not to pursue issues against individuals. “You are well aware that the CCS rules do not cover central university teachers. My concern is that teachers, who have contributed to academics and helped building up careers of bona fide students from Meghalaya, be spared of vindictive or penal action, keeping in mind future of NEHU”, he said.
