56 police recruits inducted

SHILLONG, Nov 27: Fifty-six recruits were inducted in the Unarmed Branch of Meghalaya Police as constables during a passing-out parade of the 41st batch held at Umran Police Training School in Ri Bhoi on Friday.
The recruits, comprising 10 women and 46 men, endured 11 months of effective training involving physical training, handling of tactical weapons besides law and order situation etc.
The attestation parade was reviewed by chief guest H Nongpluh, Additional Director General of Police (SB/CID), in the presence of other senior police officers and dignitaries.
In his address, Nongpluh congratulated the new inductees and lauded them for brilliant drill display.
While encouraging them to live up to the expectations, he impressed upon the recruits the sense of responsibility and authority that each of the uniformed police official carries.
He said that albeit being the 41st passing-out parade, it is a part of history as this is the transition batch from Police Training School to Meghalaya Police Academy.
The parade ended with a band display by 1st MLP Battalion, Mawiong.
