SHILLONG, Dec 5: As part of the ongoing Series of Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2021 Voter Registration Process, various activities, special campaigns are being held in various polling stations across the 11 districts and 4 sub-divisions, covering all 60 assembly constituencies of the state, in both rural and urban areas.
The various activities include voter education in market areas, voter enrolment process with adherence to social distance etiquettes and extant health protocols at all times, as part of safe elections and enrolment.
Chief Electoral Officer, FR Kharkongor, said that this time around, besides on site enrolment, services of 600 CSCs have also been roped in to offer online enrolment to prospective electors in the rural areas, with the tagline, ‘Why stand in line when you can do it online?’.
He said that the health aspect has also been prioritised as BLOs and new electors are maintaining health and safety protocols.
