SHILLONG, Dec 7: The Bharat Bandh called by farmers’ unions on Tuesday is unlikely to have any impact here in Shillong.
The general secretary of the Meghalaya Joint Council Trade Unions and Associations, JL Das, informed that they extend moral support to the movement of the farmers. He, however, said that the organisation has decided not to hold any demonstration in the city in view of the pandemic.
Banks and other offices are likely to function normally as well. But the bank employees in Meghalaya will wear black badges in support of the farmers’ movement.
