Policy for micro & small business
The Meghalaya Cabinet, on Monday, approved the draft Meghalaya Procurement Preference Policy for Micro and Small Enterprises, 2020. Speaking during the Cabinet meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that the move will encourage setting up of micro and small enterprises as well as the use of local products.

Legal services authority Rules
The Cabinet approved the proposal for Amendment of Rule 12 of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority Rules 1998 relating to the salary of the members of the State Legal Services Authority. Entitlements of the members have been raised from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.

Right-of-Way damages
The Cabinet has approved the implementation of the guidelines formulated by the Union Ministry of Power relating to the payment of compensation towards damages for Right of Way for the transmission line.

Minor minerals concession Rules
The Cabinet has approved the proposal for the Amendments to the Meghalaya Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2016. Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong told reporters here that the proposed amendment is related to the inclusion of two more items in the rules. Extraction of minor minerals from agricultural fields for betterment of agricultural land was not included earlier in the rules, adding that with the amendments, now any extraction of minor minerals, be it boulders or sand, is allowed but it should be as per the prescribed norms or process of getting a mining lease or a quarry permit has to be done by the concerned stakeholders, Tynsong said, adding that the amendment will also include extraction of minor minerals which are incidental in nature.

List of holidays
The Cabinet has also approved the proposed list of holidays for the year 2021.
