Tongkhar seeks efforts to make Mawkyrwat tourist spot

MAWKYRWAT, Dec 9: Mawkyrwat MLA and PHE Minister Renikton L Tongkhar on Wednesday called on associations, societies and public to work together towards making Mawkyrwat a tourist destination.
The legislator was speaking during the inauguration ceremony of Iatylli Eco-Camp at Pyndeniasiat in South West Khasi Hills.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister expressed hope that tourism will, one day, play an all-important role in developing Mawkyrwat area and South West Khasi Hills as a whole.
“I have this expectation and belief that one day, we can bring changes in Mawkyrwat Constituency through tourism. There are many beautiful places in Mawkyrwat area which, till now, are left unexplored,” the Mawkyrwat MLA said, adding, “soon we will have new discoveries of tourist spots one after the other”.
