Tura prof wins intl poetry writing competition

TURA, Dec 13: An associate professor from Don Bosco College in Tura has done the college proud by bagging the first prize in the poetry writing competition held at the international level recently.
Dr Barbara S Sangma, Associate Professor and Head of Department of English, was awarded with a Certificate of Appreciation for winning the top prize in the International Poetry Writing Competition organised by the All India Forum for English Students, Scholars and Trainers (AIFEST) in November, 2020.
Dr Sangma had entered her poem “A Crown, Anyone?” a metaphorical and ironical take on COVID-19 pandemic, in the Open Category of the competition which was adjudged the best.
Meanwhile, the college has lauded the success of Sangma and praised her for bringing pride to the institution.
