Gratitude
The Syngkhong Rympei Thymmai has expressed gratitude to Meghalaya Government for favourably considering their memorandum on the right of Khasis who adopt the father’s title (or surname) in obtaining Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificate, which was a hotly debated subject in the past few years, a statement issued here said. The Social Welfare department stated that there is no prohibition for issuance of ST certificate to applicants adopting surname from the father, it added.

Pension adalat
The Office of the Chief Postmaster General, NE Circle, has notified that circle-level pension adalat for the department of posts, NE Circle, will be held online from Office of the Chief Post Master General, NE Circle, Shillong on December 30 at 11 am.

Extension
The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya had extended the last date for submission of online applications for admission to Class IX through lateral entry for 2021-2022 till December31. It has asked the candidates to apply at www.navodaya.gov.in.  According to principal of JNV Williamnagar, KK Mishra, the last date for online admission to Class VI has been extended till December 29 while the correction window will remain open on December 30 and 31.
