State students’ projects qualify for natl event

SHILLONG, Dec 28: The Agastya International Foundation, an education trust, on Monday, announced the winners of the 2020 Jignyasa regional level (School Edition), an annual competition, which was held recently.
Out of the total 39 projects, two projects by students from Meghalaya were awarded and have been qualified to compete in the national-level of Jignyasa, which will be held in the third week of January, 2021. As many as 21 states will compete in the event.
Out of the two projects, the project, ‘Stop the Gender play gap’, demonstrated by Naomi Thapa (Class VIII) and Ripa Das (Class VI) from St. Nanak UPS school, secured second position and was awarded a prize money of Rs 1,500. While the other project entitled ‘End poverty’, which was demonstrated by Hemanshu Kr Roy (Class VII) from Jailroad Boys HS school and Niketa Das (VII) from Shillong Sec School, achieved an appreciation award of Rs 500.
The valedictory function of the Regional Jignyasa-2020, North-2 school edition, held on Monday, was live-streamed on YouTube.
