City lawyer becomes Tripura AG; friends heap praise

SHILLONG, Dec 29: Senior Advocate of Meghalaya High Court VGK Kynta has expressed pride over the appointment of Siddhartha Shankar Dey as Advocate General for the state of Tripura.
In a statement issued here, Kynta said that Dey was born and brought up in Shillong but later settled in Guwahati, Assam.
Kynta informed that Dey has represented Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council including Meghalaya in some matters.
“He is well conversant with local laws of Meghalaya. It is a proud moment for lawyers and friends of Dey from Shillong. May he deliver to the best interest of Tripura. I hope that he becomes AG of Meghalaya in some near future and his expertise in the field will definitely benefit Meghalaya too. I wish him success in his future tasks”, he said.
