NONGPOH, Jan 3: In another proud moment for Ri Bhoi, an Aspirational District, one of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) Urban beneficiaries, Lucybon Syngli, was awarded the ‘Best House Construction’ among all states and union territories by Durga Shanker Mishra, Secretary of Urban and Housing Affairs, Government of India, during a conference meeting on New Year Day.
Moreover, the Nongpoh Town Committee (NTC) was awarded the ‘Best Performing Nagar Panchayat’ (emerging town), which was presented by Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State in-charge of Housing and Urban Affairs, on the same day for its excellence in implementing PMAY-Urban scheme in Nongpoh.
The Town Committee leaders, led by the chairman, CB Syiem, and general secretary, Rayonald Kharkamni, while speaking to media persons at Nongkhrah, lauded and appreciated the efforts and dedication of Lucybon Syngli, which is an example for other beneficiaries, not just in Nongpoh Town but the entire state telling them to utilise the scheme to its fullest for their own benefit.
