Assault
On January 7, around 7.50 pm, two unidentified persons assaulted Goldenfield Kharkylliang (20) at Umsohsun, Shillong, and fled away. As a result, the victim sustained minor injuries and was shifted to Woodland Hospital, Shillong.
Kynsai John Kharlukhi lodged a complaint that on January 7, around 10.30 pm, four unidentified persons assaulted him near Bimola Point, Shillong, and also snatched his bag containing Rs 45,000 in cash and valuable documents.
Ashish Das lodged a complaint that on January 7, around 4.30 pm, unidentified miscreants in a scooty (ML-05P-8279) assaulted him at Keating Road, Shillong. As a result the victim sustained injuries.

Swarna Paul Choudhury of Lower Babupara, Tura (WGH), lodged a complaint (Dec 16, 2020) that her domestic help, Gita Rishi, stole her gold bangle valued around Rs 1,50,000.
Duped
Vijay Singh of 101 Area HQ, Upper Shilling, lodged a complaint that on December 31, 2020, he received an anonymous phone call in which the caller claimed himself to be an employee of Customer Care Office, to help him with mobile recharge. Later, the complainant found that Rs 66,670 was deducted from his bank account.
Loan defaulter on the run
Assistant General Manager, SBI, GS Road Branch, Shillong, lodged a complaint that on November 12, 2018, one Thongchinthan Khongsai of CHQ Coy, Assam Regimental Centre, Happy Valley, Shillong, was sanctioned a car loan worth Rs 5,99,000. However, the borrower failed to regularly pay the EMI. Further, when the Bank attempted to deliver a notice to seize his vehicle (ML-05S-2716), the accused could not be traced.
