Cops rescue minor, nab abductor

Tura, Jan 9: Two days after a minor in West Garo Hills reportedly went missing, the police on Saturday succeeded in rescuing her while also nabbing the alleged abductor.
The incident took place on Thursday night when the 17-year-old girl belonging to a village under Phulbari police station reportedly disappeared after meeting the accused, who has been identified as Ahinur Islam. It was after this, the parents of the minor approached the police. “A special team was constituted and was headed by the SDPO Dadenggre and operations were immediately launched. Within 36 hours, the victim was rescued from Phulerchar, Assam, and the accused was arrested,” said West Garo Hills Superintendent of Police, MGR Kumar.
