NONGSTOIN, Jan 11: A forty-seven-year-old woman hailing from Mawrok Rambrai in West Khasi Hills died allegedly after being assaulted by her husband.
The woman, Klotilda Kharsyiemlieh, was brought to Nongstoin Civil Hospital on Monday morning, where she was declared brought dead.
After inspection, the Nongstoin Police suspected that Wahlang had assaulted his wife, who succumbed to the injuries.
The husband of the deceased has been identified as one Nestor Wahlang of the same village.
The accused was later arrested, as per sources. Investigation is under way in the case.
