Three held with drugs

SHILLONG, Jan 14: The Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) arrested three persons and seized 431 grams of heroin on Wednesday, a statement issued here said.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Sylvester Nongtnger, informed that the ANTF team, acting on specific inputs, intercepted a vehicle driven by Vanlalropuia at Umphyrnai, Dymmiew village, around 4:25 pm and detained the vehicle (MZ 01 M 6507). “On searching, 40 soap cases of heroin weighing 431 grams were recovered from the vehicle,” he informed.
The SP stated that the vehicle was coming from Mizoram and proceeding on the highway from Khliehriat towards Mawryngkneng to deliver the consignment to a Mizo woman called Vanlaltluangi.
Accordingly a trap was laid for the receivers of the consignment and Vanlaltluangi and Bruno Faihriem, who were moving together in a vehicle (ML 05 H 0764), were intercepted and subsequently arrested.
