Condolences
The Gorkha Secondary School, Upper Shillong, organised a condolence meeting recently to pay homage to one of Meghalaya’s most seasoned politicians, late DN Joshi, who was also the former president of Gorkha Secondary School. A two -minute silence was observed as mark of respect to the departed soul, a statement issued here informed. Dhruba Nath Joshi had passed away on January 11 last.
Members of Matri Mandir, Polo Ground, Shillong, ina meeting held on Sunday, condoled the demise of Prof Sisir Kanti Bhattacharjee, a senior member of the religious group, who was had an erudite personality and in-depth knowledge of Vedic rituals. On the day, the members also observed a two-minute silence and offered prayers to the departed soul.
