No-entry zones declared ahead of Shah’s visit

SHILLONG, Jan 21: In view of the 69th inaugural session of Plenary of the North Eastern Council scheduled for January 23 and 24 at the NEC Secretariat, Nongrim Hills, and which will be attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah besides other dignitaries from other states, the Superintendent of Police of East Khasi Hills, in an order on Thursday, declared various areas as no-entry zones for vehicular movement on January 23 between 8 am and 5 pm.
The no-entry zones include Nongrim Hills Market Junction towards NEC Office, Old Post Office Junction towards NEC Office, Behind NEC Junction, Nongrim Hills water tank towards NEC Office, DG Assam Rifle Residence Jn. towards NEC Office, Nongshiliang Trai-Ri Church Junction towards D.G Assam Rifle Residence and Seventh Day Junction toward Wood Garage.
