18-yr-old killed in bike collision

TURA, Feb 3: An 18-year-old was killed after two bikes collided head-on in Rajabala, West Garo Hills on Tuesday evening.
The incident took place at Kalugaon bazaar when Probal Hajong’s (18) bike collided with another driven by Anowar Hussain (27) of Rajpur village, Bhaitbari.
The collision led to grievous injuries on both sides and both bikers and a pillion rider were rushed to Phulbari Hospital for treatment.
The 18-year-old hailing from from Balachanda village, who was grievously injured and was on the way to Guwahati for advanced medical treatment, died during the journey.
Police have, meanwhile, started an investigation into the case.
One dead in kharkutta accident
Meanwhile, a vehicle carrying passengers from Kharkutta market in North Garo Hills district went off the road and fell into a paddy field at Konchikol village leading to the death of one passenger.
According to police, the incident occurred at 1 PM Wednesday afternoon when the vehicle (AS 01 M 3993) driven by one Monit D Marak was proceeding from Kharkutta bazar to Rongchri village.
The speeding vehicle lost control at Konchikol village and plunged into a paddy field resulting in the death of Jorong Momin, a resident of Rongchi, on the spot.
The driver of the vehicle has been blamed for the high speed causing the death of a passenger.
Several other passengers of the ill-fated vehicle sustained injuries and had to be shifted to Kharkutta primary health centre hospital.
