2nd Division Shillong Cricket League: Slog Warriors, Occult win

Shillong, Feb 8: TIn a 2nd Division match between Slog Warriors and Sumer CC, Slog Warriors won the toss and elected to field first. Sumer batted first and scored 137/2 in the allotted 20 overs. Dekreak Chandra scored 54runs off 45 ball, while Juwel Lyngdoh made 37 runs off 39 balls for Sumer. For Slog Warriors Siddharth Turha (1/21) was the pick of the bowlers. In reply Slog Warriors scored 132/6 in 20 overs. Prabhakar Turha (33 runs off 38 balls) and Rajesh Mohato (19 runs off 10 balls) were the top scorers. Meanwhile, Arbinus Syiemiomg (1/17) and Wilbert Warbah (1/21) were the top bowlers for Sumer. Sumer CC won the contest by 5 runs. Dekreak was awarded the Man of the Match for his innings.
In the second match, Occult won against Innings Star by 61 runs. Occult elected to bat after winning the toss. They scored 143/7 in 20 overs as a result of Avinash Rai’s blazing 40 runs off 36 balls and Swastik Chettri’s cameo of 35 runs off 25 balls. Joydeep Ghosh (4/14) and Deepak Purkayastha (2/35) were the top wicket takers for Innings Star. In response, Innings Star folded for 82/10 in 14.2 overs. Their batsmen Pinku Ghosh (20 runs off 12 balls) and Vijay Rai (14 runs off 17 balls) were the highest run getters. For Occult, Kaushik Das returned with figures of 4/21 and was ably assisted by Pynbhalang Kharsati who took 2 wickets for 17 runs. Kaushik was awarded the Man of the Match award for his outstanding bowling.
