Shillong, Feb 9: In a 2nd Division match between Inningstar and Metallica, Inningstar won the toss and elected to field first. Metallica batted first and scored 155/10 in 19.1 overs. Rahul Baruah scored 34 runs off 33 balls, while Md Feeroj made 28 runs off 15 balls for Metallica. For Inningstar Jitender Rai (4/22) and Deepak (2/24) were the pick of the bowlers. In reply Inningstar scored 84/10 in 14.4 overs. Jitender (21 runs of 23 balls) after his outstanding performance with the ball top scored for his team. K Kohmanshsing scored 19 runs of 16 balls for Inningstar. Meanwhile, Shubham Mishra (3/18) and Pritam (2/6) were the top bowlers for Metallica. Metallica won the contest by 71 runs. Rahul was awarded the Man of the Match for scoring 34 runs and picking up 2 wickets.
In the second match, Sumer CC won against Golflink Elevenstar by 79 runs. Sumer were put in to bat after Golflink Elevenstar won the toss. Sumer scored 136/6 in 20 overs as a result of Dekreak Chandranath’s steady 42 runs off 44 balls and Juwel Lyngdoh’s 20 runs off 21 balls. Asif Khan (3/23) and Abid (1/9) were the top wicket takers for Golflink Elevenstar. In response, Golflink Elevenstar folded for 57/10 in 11.2 overs. Their batsmen Rahul Ram (19 runs off 11 balls) and Ankit Rathore (14 runs off 19 balls) were the highest run getters. For Sumer, Rijied Kharkhrang and Terry Dkhar returned with identical figures of 3/16. Rijied was awarded the Man of the Match award for his outstanding bowling.
