Locals sensitised on innovative ideas for agri

NONGSTOIN, Feb 9: A brainstorming session held at Nongstoin College, West Khasi Hills, infused different innovative ideas in the minds of youths, students and progressive farmers in line with adopting rural bio-entrepreneurship, integrated farming and other allied activities.
Based on the theme ‘Integrated Agriculture and Rural-Bio Entrepreneurship’, the meeting was chaired by Dr I Mawthoh, Principal of Nongstoin College, and Dr UK Behera, Convenor, National Academy of Agricultural Sciences- regional centres, Barapani, who was the key speaker and delivered a lecture on ‘Integrated agriculture and rural-bio entrepreneurship’.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, AVD Shira, was the chief guest on the occasion, which was attended by students and faculty members of college, NGOs, participants from Basin Development Board and department officials.
