Centre to assist in devp of Shillong Golf Course

SHILLONG, Feb 10: Union Sports Minister, Kiren Rijiju has assured to sanction a project for improvement and development of the 18-hole Shillong Golf Course.
Cabinet Minister and local MLA, AL Hek had met the Union Sports Minister in New Delhi and sought his assistance for improvement and development of the iconic golf course.
“During the meeting, the minister said he will do it,” Hek said while informing that the development project would not cost much.
Recently, the state government, the district administration, Rangbah Shnongs and residents of Golf Links area held a meeting and resolved to safeguard the Shillong Golf Course while deciding to constitute a task force to keep the area clean.
