GHADC polls: Cong names 12 more candidates

SHLLONG, Feb 17: In the run-up to the ensuing MDC elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council, the Meghalaya has announced the names of remaining twelve candidates who are in the fray.
They include: James Sangma for Babelapara, Stevie M Marak for Boldamgre, Jagadish Ch Hajong for Zikzak, Sanjay Koch for Betasing, Malcolm M Sangma for Rochonpara, Agassi R Marak for Balachanda, Ashahel D Shira for Batabari, Habibuz Zaman for Shyamnagar, Joyson R Marak for Raksamgre, Levastone T Sangma for Jengjal, Manseng Momin for Bolsong and Lahitson M Sangma for Samandagre.
The GHADC polls will be held on April 9.
The GHADC’s five-year term expired on October 18 last year but the state government decided to defer the polls in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and put the House under the Administrator’s Rule.
