Remote village in WKH gets community hall

NONGSTOIN, Feb 17: Nongstoin Legislator Macmillan Byrsat, on Wednesday, inaugurated the community hall of Mawthawphet village, which was constructed under the Special Rural Works Programme 2018-19.
Heaping praise on the MLA, Headman P Dkhar said that Mawthawphet, merely 20 kilometres from Nongstoin is one of the remote areas, whose residents get to meet its representative only during elections, but the present local legislator (Byrsat) has visited more than three times and also sanctioned the MLA schemes for the welfare of the people.
Responding to the headman’s appeal for an approach road connecting Mawduh to Mawthawphet, the MLA has assured his support while also promising that Mawthawphet village will be included in the mapping of PMGSY scheme. He also assured the sanctioning of Mawthawphet RCLP school through the MLA scheme.
Meanwhile, Byrsat, who is also the president of the NPP Nongstoin Block, administered the oath to new members of the NPP Women’s wing of Mawthawphet primary unit.
