SHILLONG, Feb 19: Royal CC defeated Malki CC by 9 wickets in a 1st Division cricket match here at the NEPA grounds on Friday. Royal won the toss and put Malki to bat. Malki scored 51 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 10.2 overs. Batsmen Vishal Balmiki (09 runs off 14 balls) and Nishant Ray (08 runs off 08 balls) were the top scorers for Malki. Abhishek Kumar of Royal CC claimed 8 wickets in 5.2 overs while giving away 18 runs. Royal skipper Arun Rai was also among the wickets and returned with figues of 1/18 in 4 overs. In reply, Royal chased the target in 8.1 overs. Amaad Siddique (21 runs off 24 balls) and Anmol Sunar (17 runs of 16 balls) top scored for Royal. Arvind Kumar (1/16) was the lone wicket-taker for Malki. Abhishek (8/18) was adjudged the Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling performace.
