TURA, Feb 23: The All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers’ Association (AGHSSASTA) has threatened to boycott their regular duties from March 1 if their eight-month arrears, pending from 2016-17, are not released by the February 28.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Association said that it was worn out of submitting repeated memorandums and petitions to the state government, which have fallen on deaf ears.
Meanwhile, the Meghalaya SSA Schools Association has reiterated the demand for creation of posts and shifting of 12,541 existing SSA teachers from State Implementation Society to the state Education department on regular basis, as per provision of Right to Education (RTE) and SSA norms.
