Stone quarrying sans nod
Rowind Ch Sangma, Nokma of Jongkipara A’king Land III 26(7), lodged a complaint that some persons had illegally carried out stone-quarrying activities in his A’king Land without his consent as well as valid documents from the government. When the complainant intervened into the matter, the accused persons reportedly threatened the complainant and his relatives.

Contraband seized
On Feb 18, acting on a tip-off, police arrested two persons, viz. Habibul Islam of Chotopaikata village, South Salmara, Assam, and Rakibul Islam of Nismonichar, South Salmara, Assam, at New Bhaitbari, West Garo Hills and seized 4,316 Tramadol Hydrochloride, Acetaminophen and Diclomine Hydrochloride capsules from the possession of Habibul Islam.

Theft
Livingstone Ch Marak lodged a complaint that on February 19, unknown miscreant(s) stole one scooty (ML-08F-9622) from the premises of Tura Civil Hospital.
Isaiah Kharmawphlang lodged a complaint that on February 20 around 11 am, one person, impersonated as LPG delivery boy, entered his (complainant) mother’s residence at Nongrim Road, Laitumkhrah, and stole one handbag, containing mobile phone, Rs 3,000in cash, gold ring, ID card, SBI cheque, etc. Total value of stolen items is estimated at around Rs 40,000.
Shakespeare Sangma lodged a complaint that on the intervening night of February 23 and 24, unknown miscreants stole his motorcycle (ML-05T-5837) from Mawiong Rumnong, Mawlai.
Jyoti Deka lodged a complaint that on February 21, unknown miscreant(s) stole battery bank valued around Rs 1,30,000 and one DG battery valued around Rs 8,000 from ATC mobile tower site at Dkhiah West, East Jaintia Hills.
Jyoti Deka lodged a complaint that on February 21 around 10.30 am, miscreant(s) stole one SMPS valued around Rs 35,000 from ATC mobile tower site at Umtyra, East Jaintia Hills.
Jyoti Deka lodged a complaint that on the night of February 16, unknown miscreant(s) stole 70 metre of feeder cable and 3 metre of jumper cable from ATC mobile tower site at Dkhiah West, East Jaintia Hills.
On February 21 night, miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-07A-4808) from Mindikgre village, South Garo Hills.

Unauthorised transaction
Raj Kumar Ray lodged a complaint that several unauthorised Paytm transaction amounting Rs 44,500 was carried out from his SBI account on December 31, 2020, January 1, 2021 and on January 4, 2021 respectively.

Theft bid
Vijay Chettri lodged a complaint that on February 23 around 8.30 am, unknown miscreants broke into his house at Dhankheti, Shillong, with an intention to commit theft.
Miscreants on Monday night attempted to commit a burglary at Akshat and Asscociate CA firm at Dhankehti. An FIR has been registered with Laitumkhrah police station in this regard.
Petrol station equipment damaged
Mahendra Singh, manager of M/s Jaiñtia Auto Agencies (IOC Petrol Pump), Lad-Rymbai, East Jaintia Hills, lodged a complaint that on February 22 around12.25 am, four unidentified miscreants went to the petrol pump and damaged three display cards of three dispensing units.

Cattle seized
SI Akbar Ali, Post Commander, BOP Umsyiem, East Khasi Hills, lodged a complaint that BSF personnel on February 22 around 1.30 pm recovered five heads of cattle and on February 23 around 8.50 am recovered ten heads of cattle from a place under Umsyiem BOP, East Khasi Hills.

Threat
Shidabunki Kyndait and Linus Phawa lodged a complaint that on February 21 around 10 pm, one Seini Kyndait (26) threatened to stab his father with a knife.

Foreigner apprehended
H/C BD Gogoi of A-Coy, 43 Bn., BSF, BOP Panda, South Garo Hills, lodged a complaint that on February 19, BSF personnel on duty apprehended one Bangladeshi national, viz. Md. Biplob Hussain, for illegally crossing the Indo-Bangladesh border. Hussain was later handed over to the police at Rongara PS, South Garo Hills.
