Pet registration
All residents within the Shillong Municipal Area have been directed by the Chief Executive Officer, Shillong Municipal Board, to register their pet dogs with the Municipal Board and to obtain dog tags by making a payment of Rs 200. According to a statement, the pet owners have also been directed to ensure that their dogs do not stray at public places. “Dogs found without tags will be treated as strays and necessary action will be taken as per Municipal Act,” the statement said.
