SHILLONG, Feb 26: The sixth edition of the Assam Rifles Invitational Football Cup 2021, was inaugurated by Lieutenant General Sukhdeep Sangwan at Assam Rifles Football Ground, Laitkor on Friday. Launched in 2016 to promote football spirit in the region, this year’s edition has 12 teams participating in the tournament. In an extremely competitive opening match, Assam Rifles defeated Lawmali SC by 2-1 goals. The Final match will be played on March 12.
