SHILLONG, March 2: Students who had secured highest marks in Science and Mathematics in the SSLC and HSSLC Examination, 2020, were on Tuesday felicitated during National Science Day celebration in the city.
According to a statement on Tuesday, the event was organised by the State Council of Science, Technology & Environment (SCSTE) Meghalaya and was attended by Jt Director, Directorate School Education & Literacy, TM Pyngrope, as the chief guest.
During the programme, an exhibition was put up by the Bio Resource Development Centre, Innovation Hub of Shillong Science Centre, Women Technology Park, Bolmoram, GEM, Umshing, innovators and traditional Healers from East Jaintia Hills, West Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi along with students from NIT-Meghalaya.
“A lecture on ‘Our Star in the Neighbourhood, the Sun’ and an open quiz was also organised for participating students from different districts,” the statement said.
Special awards were also conferred upon Lakhon Larry Brown Khonglah of Sohkha Govt Higher Secondary School who secured 9th position in SSLC examination 2020 and Regan M Nongrang of Tirot Sing Govt Higher Secondary School, Mawphaniew, who secured 18th position in the SSLC examination 2020.
