Super Division Shillong Cricket League: NFU CC win by 160 runs

SHILLONG, March 5: NFU CC put up a stellar performance to demolish Riatsamthiah CC by 160 runs in their Super division match here on Friday. NFU CC won the toss and elected to bat first to put up a mammoth 322/7 in 35 overs riding on a splending century by Purojit Mondol who scored 105 runs off 93 balls. Akash Choudhary also scored a quickfire 95 runs off 46balls to further deepen Riatsamthiah’s woes who were consolidated by bowler Weelmansin who returned with figures of 3/54 off 6 overs. In reply Raitsamthiah managed only 162 before being bowled out in 30 overs. Batsmen Prayash scored 33 runs off 41balls while Adarsh contributed 26 off 37 balls. After his performance with the bat, Man of the Match Purojit scalped two wickets conceding 42 runs. Teammate Akash was economical, returning with figures of 1/11 in 4 overs as NFU CC finished with a 160-run victory.
In yesterday’s match, Sputnik CC beat Nongthymmai CC by 13 runs. Mark Ingty of Sputnik CC was awarded the Man of the Match after scoring 56 runs and taking 1 wicket with the ball.
