SHILLONG, March 14: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has affirmed that the road sector in all border villages will witness development soon even as he informed that the state government is committed to strive for more development in all sectors while hinting at the next budget session.
Tynsong, who is also the in charge of PWD (Roads), stated this while replying to a query on bordering villages, that reportedly feel neglected in terms of developmental works.
“It is not that if you talk about roads, we build them everywhere. Of course we cannot just do it in one phase; this is an ongoing process. In the first year, we have given this much, next year we give more. So there is an annual target,” Tynsong said.
Asserting that the state government is committed, the deputy chief minister said, “We want to make sure that road sector development reaches each and every villages be it the international or interstate border”.
With regard to other developmental aspects, Tynsong said, “As per the budget presented by the chief minister, the line has already been drawn and the maximum amount budgeted goes to education, road, health sector and water”.
“Major focus of the government is in these sectors where we have increased budget allocation. I am sure in the next financial year we will be able to do more,” he added.
