Exhibition, sale
An exhibition-cum-sale of handicrafts products organised by Handicrafts Service Centre, Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, Shillong, will be held from March 16 to 20 at All Saints’ Cathedral Hall and Ground, Shillong. This was informed by the Handicrafts Promotion Officer, Handicrafts Service Centre, Shillong.
Manifesto
The state BJP will, on Tuesday, release its manifesto for the ensuing elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) at its office, the party said in a statement issued here on Monday. The polls are slated for April 12.
Curfew extended
The ongoing curfew, under section 144 CrPC in West Garo Hills, has been extended till March 23 with the same restrictions and exemptions as issued earlier.
Unclaimed body
An unidentified male person (52) was admitted in the Male Medical Ward of the Shillong Civil Hospital around 11.30 am on March 12, the Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Civil Hospital, Shillong, informed in a statement issued here, adding that the patient, however, expired in the morning of March 13. Concerned persons have been requested to collect his body from the hospital morgue at the earliest failing which it will be sent for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board, the statement said.
Notice
In view of the general elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council, the Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills, Ch. Ramakrishna, has issued a notice, directing all the arms license holders in the district to deposit their arms at the nearest police stations for conduct of free and fair elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC). The model code of consuct has also been enforced in this regard.
