HC asks asst SG to explore utilisation of Umroi Airport

SHILLONG, March 23: The High Court has directed Assistant Solicitor General, who represents the Airports Authority of India, to explore with his client the possibility of utilising Umroi Airport optimally by either making it unidirectional just like the Port Blair Airport or facilitating smaller jet aircrafts operators to use the airport.
The matter, which came up after a gap of almost a year on Tuesday, has been listed for hearing on April 6.
The Assistant Solicitor General has also been asked to place on record all developments, which have taken place in the meanwhile, before the court.
