Shillong, Mar 26: West Khasi Hills stormed to a 99-run victory over South West Khasi Hills on the second day of the Meghalaya Cricket Association’s Inter District U-19 Girls Cricket Tournament 2021 in Nongstoin today. The other match, also in Group B, saw Shillong Cricket Association defeat South Garo Hills by the narrower margin of 27 runs.
The first match saw WKH score a massive 165/9 in their allotted 20 overs (Icyful Mary Lyngkhoi 23; Banrisha Wahlang 3/15) before skittling SWKH for 66, with player-of-the-match Risukdashisha Giri Marwein producing a wonderful spell to claim 4/27.
Later, a rapid 78 off 58 deliveries from Suriti Kumar Ray saw SCA make 150/8 in their 20 overs, with Mary R Marak returning the best figures for SGH with 3/26.
In reply, SGH fell short as they were left stranded on 123/8 (Marme M Sangma 35; Natasha Rabha 1/7).
