MCA U-14: East Jaintia Hills, Ri Bhoi win

SHILLONG, March 27: East Jaintia Hills and Ri Bhoi won their respective matches of the Meghalaya Cricket Association’s U-14 Inter District Tournament 2021 in Nongpoh today.
These were the last games of Zone 1 and the group stage as a whole.
In the morning contest EJH scored 118/2 in their 20 overs against East Khasi Hills. Player-of-the-match Ribaitki Dkhar struck 47, while the wickets were shared by Damecha Khongsngi (1/15) and Jonathan Mawa (1/22).
In reply EKH were bundled out for 67, to give EJH victory by 51 runs. Khongsngi top-scored with 29, while Yoometre Malang (3/9) and Morningstar Phawa (3/10) were the best of the bowlers.
This was their third win, confirming EJH in second place in Zone 1, behind Shillong Cricket Association.
Later, Ri-Bhoi registered their first win by defeating All Jaintia Cricket Association by five wickets.
AJCA were all out for 118 in 17.4 overs (Heiyoomiki Ryngkhlem 43; Suraj Kapri 4/24) and Ri-Bhoi then scored at just under eight runs an over to win in 15 overs with the loss of five wickets.
Adrian Rymbai (37) and Soojal Roy (30) scored at better than a run-a-ball, while Maremdor Sutnga (3/16) was the most successful bowler for AJCA. Kapri was named player-of-the-match.
Ri-Bhoi, EKH and AJCA all finished with one victory each under their belts.
