Milk prices upped in state

SHILLONG, March 29: The East Khasi Hills District Cooperative Milk Union Ltd has increased the price of Megha Milk by 7.7 per cent in the state.
Following the announcement, per litre of the aforesaid will be available for Rs 56 in Shillong, whilst the same has been priced at Rs 58 in other parts of East Khasi Hills.
In Garo Hills, the price of the milk has been fixed at Rs 64 per litre.
For others parts save Garo Hills and East Khasi Hills, the product can be purchased for Rs 60 per litre.
The Union informed that the rate was upped due to the increase in cost of production by over 49.75 per cent since the last price hike in 2017.
