Ri Bhoi enter semis of MCA U-19 Girls tourney

SHILLONG, March 31: A second strong performance in two days saw Ri Bhoi qualify for the semfinals of the Meghalaya Cricket Association’s U-19 Girls Cricket Tournament after they defeated All Jaintia Cricket Association by seven wickets in Nongstoin today.
In the later match Sanchisa M Sangma smashed 104 to help Tura District Cricket Association defeat East Khasi Hills by 78 runs in Group C.
Ri Bhoi won the toss in the Group A match and elected to field. Bancyful Mynsong claimed 2/3 and Dolina Marten 2/16 as AJCA were all out for 56, with Kermina Challam top-scoring with 19.
In reply, Ri Bhoi lost three wickets, with Ritreki Pohshna claiming 2/14, but still managed to reachthe target inside seven overs. For her score of 26 and one wicket in the first innings, Ri Bhoi’s Ankita Sharma was adjudged player-of-the-match.
The second contest saw player-of-the-match Sanchisa strike 104 off just 68 deliveries as TDCA made 173/2 in their 20 overs. The two wickets were taken by Dawanshisha Warlarpih (1/25) and Badapbiang Lawai (1/39).
In response EKH were all out for 95, with Cheambe M Sangma the hero with the ball, having taken 4/15. Grimchi Sangma, meanwhile, claimed 2/10.
