SHILLONG, April 12: The acting president of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF), Banteidor Lyngdoh said he would meet Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Tuesday to discuss the crisis in the MeECL and the power scenario in the state.
“He is expected to return to Shillong tomorrow. I will meet him to specifically discuss the present power crisis in the state,” Lyngdoh, also a Cabinet Minister in the NPP-led MDA government, said on Monday.
He said the party is concerned about the developments in the MeECL that are “not sending the right message to the people”.
But he said resolving the crisis brewing in the MeECL for years would not be easy.
“The MDA partners need to have threadbare deliberations to find out the ways and means of bailing out the MeECL from the present crisis,” Lyngdoh said.
He also felt that a meeting of the MDA Coordination Committee should be convened at the earliest to allow all coalition partners to deliberate on this issue.
