PDS quota
East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner (Supply) has informed that rice under NFSA (AAY and PHH) and non-NFSA and wholemeal atta for April has been released through respective fair price shops. According to a statement, rice under AAY will be distributed at the scale of 35 kg per card at Rs 3 per kg, PHH quota at the scale of 5 kg per head at Rs 3 per kg and non-NFSA at the scale of 7.215 kg per household at Rs 12.70 to Rs 13.00 per kg. On the other hand, wholemeal atta will be distributed at the scale of 5 kg per card in urban areas and 3 kg per card in rural areas at Rs 10.50 per kg.

Night curfew
West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh has extended the night curfew in the district till April 23. According to a directive from the DC, the curfew will be promulgated between 11 pm and 5 am every day. The relaxations and restrictions during the curfew hours will remain the same. The DC has also warned that violation of COVID-19 protocols will entail penalty.
